2009 Christmas News Letter

Gary and Laura live in Provo, Utah. Kirsten is 6 and in the 1st grade, Megan is 4, she is her mom or dad’s constant companion until Kirsten gets home from school. Gary is working on his biochemistry degree at BYU. Laura is in the fine arts program. Gary was released from the high council and sustained as 2nd counselor in the bishopric. Laura is in the primary presidency of her ward. A highlight for Gary was to ride in the LOTOJA this year. All of the boys have the fever to do it again now. Laura has been working on her photography business and took our family picture (above).

Jared and Ché live in Orem, Utah. They are expecting a boy in April!! Jared is working on his English degree at BYU. Ché graduated in August with her Bachelor of Art (with an emphasis in painting and drawing) from BYU. They are Ward Family History Consultants and team teach the Family History class. Ché teaches Relief Society and Jared is the Ward Organist. A highlight for Jared was the blessing of teaching one semester of Seminary.

Kassie and Aaron Rogers live in Farmington, New Mexico. Sam is 5 and he is in Kindergarten. Garret is his mama’s shadow and is 3 years old. Aaron is a nurse at San Juan Regional Medical Center working in the Cardiac Cath Lab, this is where heart patients go to get stints, and other lifesaving procedures like having pacemakers put in to regulate their heartbeat. He has one class left before he finishes his BSN at UNM. Aaron is the cub master and serves in the Elder’s Quorum presidency. Kassie is in the Primary Presidency and is enjoying being a mother and being done with school. The highlights for her this year have been canning lots of applesauce and salsa with Gran, and quilting.

Jordan and Cherstin are our newlyweds, married this year on August 22nd. They are going to school at BYU-I in Rexburg. Cherstin is a nurse completing her BS in nursing. Jordan is a business major. Cherstin is the ward pianist and Relief Society teacher and Jordan is the executive secretary in his elder’s quorum. The highlight for Jordan was marrying Cherstin.

Elder Morris came home from his mission to Brazil, Manaus on June 2nd. After returning he spent the summer working construction and then started his 2nd semester at Mesa State as a piano performance major. A highlight of the year for Bobby was to spend Thanksgiving with all of his brothers and sisters in Farmington at Kassie and Aaron’s house. The first day of Thanksgiving break most of the boys went mountain biking in Moab on the porcupine rim.

Kammie spent 2009 going to college at Mesa State and San Juan College. She has had steady employment being a nanny, often being asked to care for several families’ children on the same weekend. A highlight of the year for Kammie was when Bobby came home from his mission.

Gary Sr. and Karen live in Grand Junction, Colorado. After 18 moves, we’ve been here for 4 years. It is starting to feel like we are sending roots down! We do love it here! But we’ve loved it everywhere. Good friends have left us and as we have moved on we have left some very dear friends. Dad is a manager for Completion Tools and loves it. Karen is busy.
